The Ruckus began as the folk-punk alter ego of frontman Rob Brown in 2012, but with the gradual addition of lead guitarist Jackson Dorie, bassist Giordano Modesto, and drummer Patrick Brown, the band has grown into an alt-rock kaleidoscope. Their sound, which draws inspiration from artists like Green Day and Big Wreck, could be described as a new take on garage rock. You’d want to hear it in seedy dive bars just as much as you would in packed stadiums.
On September 10th, 2021, The Ruddy Ruckus released their debut album, “Wentworth And Main,” following years of releasing acoustic guitar-backed demos. “Wentworth And Main,” which was mixed by Dave Schiffman (PUP, Vampire Weekend, The OBGMs), produced by Luke Bentham (The Dirty Nil), engineered by Vince Soliveri (The Red Hill Valleys), engineered, mixed, and mastered by Harry Hess (Arkells, Monster Truck), is a gritty sonic representation of living in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the band’s hometown where they share it with wealthy expatriates of larger major centres.
